WELCOME
This space is for the moms who are doing their best, burning the toast sometimes, stretching the budget, choosing connection over perfection, and still trying to make everyday life feel a little magical. I share realistic recipes, simple wellness, budget-friendly wins, honest fails, and the cozy moments that make it all worth it.
My mission is simple: to nourish my family’s bodies, hearts, and home—without the pressure to do it all perfectly. Because motherhood isn’t about having it all together; it’s about showing up, loving big, and finding joy in the messy middle.
Welcome to a life that’s warm, real, and beautifully imperfect. ✨

About Me
Hi, I’m Kayla Smith—mama, wife, and a child of God. 🤍
Before motherhood, I was a former athlete and college coach, and health and wellness have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve always loved pouring into others—encouraging them, motivating them, and cheering them on as they become the best versions of themselves. I want to be the one celebrating their wins, hugging them tight after big achievements… and even after the tiny ones that deserve just as much joy.
I met my husband at church in Indianapolis in 2017, and we were married in 2018. His career eventually brought us to Galveston, Texas, where I began a new chapter as a teacher. It was during that season that the Lord revealed something so clearly to me—I wanted to be a mom more than anything.
We welcomed our son, Owen, at the start of COVID in 2020. From the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew I wanted to stay home and raise him. I couldn’t stand the thought of missing even a single moment. And by the grace of God, He provided an online teaching job for me through Stride K12. I entered the world of working from home while staying home—not gracefully, not perfectly, but I navigated.
And in that season, I learned so much about myself.
I found myself craving community with other moms. I became a sponge for all things motherhood—what products were worth it, what ones weren’t, what made life easier, what made it harder. I soaked up every recommendation, every review, and shared my very non-expert opinions when I felt I could help. I loved learning new recipes from friends, seeing how they packed their diaper bags, organized their cars, planned their days, and somehow made life look so beautiful.
And that’s when it started—the quiet chase for perfection.
My Pinterest attempts were… massive fails.
My food usually tasted good—but never looked like the picture.
My plans rarely went as planned.
And slowly, I started to feel like I was failing.
Then one day, in the middle of our home flooding in Tennessee, everything changed.
As I was trying to broom standing water out the door, stressed and overwhelmed, my son was running around yelling, “This is the most fun flood ever!”
And right there, in that moment, I felt the Lord speak to my heart:
“Give it to Me. All of it. You are doing enough. I'll do the rest.”
That was the beginning of Nourished, Not Perfect.
A reminder that motherhood doesn’t need to be flawless to be meaningful. That our kids don’t need perfection—they need presence. That real life is where love grows. That joy can exist even in the chaos.
So here we are—on a journey together toward a nourished, not perfect motherhood. One rooted in faith, grace, laughter, and real life. Not picture-perfect moments, but heart-filled ones.
Let’s love our families well—right where we are.
I’m so happy you’re here. 🤍
